Our educators work hard and have a critically important role in our society. They also enjoy a significant number of vacation days, summers off, generous sick time allocation, and a retirement pension unlike anything currently found in the private sector. It is impossible to tell from the data on the Democrat and Chronicle link if the most highly paid educators are working through the summers. But we do know all receive very generous benefits. It is time to ask what a reasonable total compensation is for our educators and administrators.
